Frequently asked questions

What are the People Team's current and long-term initiatives?

We are dedicated to build, grow, support, and engage all of our teams at Honor. So what does this look like? At the moment, we are working on: building our candidate experience and pipeline, developing our managers through our Manager Training program, and supporting organization efficiencies through our People Operations team. We are also consistently working to embed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all aspects of our work. An example of this is through our Honor Communities (Employee Resource Groups).

What does career growth and development look like for the People Team?

Career development looks different to different people. As a startup company, one of our advantages is the wide variety of impactful work our team gets to work on - whether you are in People Ops, L&D, Talent Acquisition, or the HRBP teams, you get the chance to work on cross-functional projects that touch on an assortment of areas while making a big impact to the success of Honor. We want to meet you where you are at because we know learning looks different for everyone. That’s why we do our best to provide several ways to learn, whether it's our monthly team Lunch & Learn sessions to cover a topical issue or our self-serve Udemy classes (and many more) - it’s up to you to learn and grow in ways you’ve never expected.

What is the People Team culture like?

We are a collaborative team that trusts each other to get stuff done so that we can continue to drive towards Honor’s mission of changing the way we care for our parents. We like to have fun, too! We gather monthly to teach, learn, and grow as a team through our Lunch + Learn series, monthly company-wide optional DEI Deep Dives, and an annual offsite to connect and get together as a distributed team.

What makes for a successful Team member of the People team?

The most common traits you’ll find in our people are compassion, collaboration, innovation, and effectiveness. Though we move fast, we work diligently to get stuff done right the first time. We support and enhance our employee’s abilities to be successful, grow their careers, and deliver Honor’s mission. Finally, we appreciate when we challenge each other to think differently; bringing different perspectives to elevate our work.
